This week’s Composer of the Week explores the life of Claude Debussy, whose influence upon other composers and musicians of his time was profound.

Although Debussy is best known for his solo piano works and orchestral pieces, Donald Macleod uncovers some of the composer’s lesser known chamber works, including a Piano Trio written in 1880, a String Quartet, and a number of sonatas for different instruments.

The music will be contextualised by an exploration of parts of Debussy’s life.
